I would like to recognise the extraordinary life of Professor Michael J Cousins, Pain Foundation Founder and Patron, who sadly passed away on 27 April 2024.
Professor Cousins set up the Pain Foundation and the Pain Management Research Institute in 1996 to address the significant need for a better understanding and management of chronic pain. Prof Cousins recognized the immense impact that chronic pain has on individuals’ quality of life and the lack of adequate treatment options available. By establishing these organizations, he sought to advance research in pain management, improve clinical practices, and enhance public awareness and education about pain.
Pain Foundation Ltd is committed to ensuring Professor Cousins legacy continues and sends our sincere condolences to his wife, Michele, and family at this sad time.
