Prof Paul Glare, representing the Pain Foundation, was pleased to receive a $10,000 grant from TOUR DE CURE at the “Woolies Wheelies n Walks” challenge on Tuesday 6th May at Bella Vista (Woolworths Head Office).
The grant is being directed to Stage 1 of an important study into chronic pain suffered by survivors of breast cancer. After a video-conferenced focus group with oncologists, pain specialists and consumers, Stage 1 will have developed a library of 70 messages that provide information, motivation and support to breast cancer survivors impacted by chronic pain. Pain Foundation Limited (PFL) would like to thank the Tour De Cure Foundation for this ‘show of faith’ in the validity of this study on behalf of the estimated 20,000 women coping with chronic pain following their recovery from breast cancer.
PFL has agreed to ‘invest’ further in later stages of this study at a cost of $90,000 and would welcome donations from all interested parties – supporters, family members, healthcare interests, concerned philanthopists, and so on.
