Congratulations to Pain Management Research Institute (PMRI) lecturer, Dr Manasi Mittinty, who is currently completing a Fellowship in Advanced Global Clinical Scholar Research Training at Harvard Medical School.
The Fellowship provides advanced training in health care research and methods for developing and executing transdisciplinary health care projects with a global reach.
Dr Mittinty was recommended to apply to Harvard during her post-doctoral fellowship in US in 2018 at Stanford University and West Virginia University.
Wanting to return to Australia because she had been away for a year, Dr Mittinty did not apply in 2018 but, “nudged on” by her husband (Dr Murthy Mittinty), she reconsidered in 2021.
“I only applied because he encouraged me to, and I really didn’t think about the outcome. I just enjoyed the process of applying to Harvard,” she said.
“To my utter surprise and gratitude, I was selected among the global scholars for 2022-2023 cohort.”
Dr Mittinty, who holds a MD Medicine (St-Petersburg State Medical Academy, St Petersburg, Russia) and a PhD in Medicine (University of Adelaide), will complete the Fellowship in February 2023.
